woohoo just came back from a jam-packed day as pseudo tourists! In summary, today's outing which started as a frisbee outing was to bring the 2 tourists hailing from Cornell, Yizhuan and Daphne, around Singapore. WARNING: Draggy boring account of whole day ahead.
The day started off pretty bad with a Yizhuan who hasnt been around the 19th much.. and I forgot to adjust our timings for him. I sent out a msg for all to meet at 9am at Harbourfront MRT. So this happened: Yizhuan reached at 0855, Daphne at 0940, me and Sadu at 0950, Tanen at 1000, Ben and Emma at 1130. LOL so Yizhuan was naturally pissed.
And so we finally got to Siloso beach, played frisbee till Ben and Emma had to leave for stuff soon, and then went to try the Sentosa Luge. Basically its a mini-Gokart down Imbiah Hill. And took the chairlift up again. Fun experience! Something we wouldnt have tried usually. After the Luge we came up with the idea to go East Coast for blading, since the 4 of us, Tanen YZ, Daphne and me didnt really know how to. And stopped for Katong laksa before walking to PP, bought socks and walked somemore to ECP.
More walking and walking and walking and we finally reached the Rollerblades rental shop! rented 3 pairs for me tanen and YZ, and Sadu was nice enough to carry our stuff for us while we bladed. And, our birthday princess Aud graced our mini 19th outing in the afternoon decked in shades and pink shorts, bringing with her her own blades to lend us(thanks babe!) So we -wobbled- our way to the Beginner's Corner, levelled up a few times then made our way out. We balded around, learnt how to brake, and even had a "train" with Aud dragging us all along.. haha fun fun. We bladed all the way to the end, with amazing Sadu carrying the barang barang of 5 people and walked/ran 8km with us all the way. You go dude! CBRD has done you good.. lol but seriously, thanks man. Tanen fell alot, I was almost issued a speeding ticket, YZ hated humps, and Daph(deaf?) looked like she was skating on ice. My U-turn turned out badly with me almost doing a split on the floor.. owww..
After releasing our screaming ankles from their hell-hole, we resumed our day-long walking. Off to Lagoon to submerge ourselves into Singaporean local food and to fulfil the chilli crab crave of Daphne. Same protocol, everyone paid $10 and some of us set out to buy a multitude of local dishes. Massive pigging out ensued, the momentum stopped momentarily only by the attack of the Strawberry Mantous.
Wah.. I was the first to try those little Mantous which comes deep fried with chilli crab, and I dipped a piece of it into the sauce. Ack.. it was damn weird! Strong strawberry smells were mixing with the chilli and the whole thing tasted wrong. Who would ever serve strawberry flavoured mantous with chilli crab?! Anyway we requested for a change and the uncle gave us a plate of plain mantous as replacement.
Ate. Ate. Ate. Eventually everything was finished and here I am, pigged out and resting at home preparing to sleep. Did many things we wouldnt really do if it was just another 19th Sentosa outing, cuz in the process of showing Daphne around we enjoyed ourselves tremendously too.
What a day. Sunkissed, tired and feeling happy overall.
