Hrm.. at home on a day of coughing and MC.. have to go back to camp by 1730 though for duty.
Haven't been blogging, but here're 3 things I've been wanting to blog about.
1. Rosh's Party
2. Memoirs of the Geisha
3. Twits
Rosh's Party
Let's start with the recent Rosh party.. hehe went down to her place with stef on a cold drizzy night, and we were the first ones there! then we proceeded up to her very breezy apartment with a wonderful view of the coast and a section of the ECP. Nature and Technology side by side.. how cool.
Then came the usual chatting, and bumming around, till more people came. It was then I came up with the idea of Punk'ding Ben with "Green Faerie" (lime cordial with russian vodka) Followed by a unwatched Sky Captain, pizza, and a box of cheesecakes.
Cranium was next, with four very unique teams. LOL
Me, Pearl, Rosh (Winner!)
Aud, Weihan, Harish
Ian tan, Ching, Stef
Ian Cheng, Tanen, Ben
Ben's team was amazing at Green Cards and Humdingers.. idiot oldies.. And I finally conquered "Lawnmower" in Sculptorades.. No more whale! Also, I think I can't play Cranium anymore.. been through all the Creative Cars I think. We secured our win with a spectacular Remote Control from Pearl =) *clap clap*
By the time we were done its was already way past midnight.. had a bdae celebration, then everyone zoomed off~ leaving the FFs with Rosh.. and the cameo by Nick haha. Had such a long chat till 5, but i was so drowsy I didnt catch much at all.. Bah sorry Rosh.
Memoirs of a Geisha
Before I start, I have to say that between two of Zhang Yimou's women, I'll pick Gong Li as the hotter one any time.
Zhang Ziyi is ok. But Gong Li.. *stunned* A woman at 40, she sure can stop a truck load of men with a single glance. Her flawless skin and refined features.. help me...
Anyway, it was a long movie, but developed pretty well imo. Though I did find Ziyi's blue eyes a bit off. I think most of you would've known the story by now, so I wont be saying anything bout it.
Two things that crossed by mind during the movie: War sucks and I wanna be a rich guy in older Japan.
Last thing I wasnt happy with the movie.. Why must it be a happy ending?! I know I love happy endings but in this case it just made the whole movie so cliched and the happy ending seemed so abrupt.. like it was just thrown in last minute to appease Hollywooders. BAH.
Twits
Hahahahahaha.. Twits.. never knew there was a term to those people I've been seeing till Aud introduced them to me. Go google Museum of Twits and check out the blog. It's enlightening and hilarious though a bit harsh at times.
I'm sure most of you out there have already seen a twit or two, or even been twitified once before. So now, what's a twit? Basically their native language sounds like this:
nii bUu hAo deRrrxx.. mii noRt fAttt WaRrrdd.. wEii sHeNnn meeRr coRr mii faTtt? or
mUzz luBb mii dEep dEeep wOrxXx
Haha I've known of tattooed, smoking guys who spew vulgarities nonstop talking like this online. For more go check out the blog.. haha and be sure to read the comments for the OSG(Orange Shirt Guy) entry.
Its sad how a portion of Singaporean youths are walking down this path of language bastardisation and refusal to change, believing that its cute, cool and the way to be. I myself am a Singlish supporter, cause I believe its a part of the Singaporean identity, which we use to converse with fellow Singaporeans. Since every other english-speaking country have their own slangs and whatnot too. Things like la, chey, lor, certain hokkien/malay inserts are fine with me. But not this!! Its a darn pain to even read the language twits write, and its whole point is not to be consistent(thus fails as a medium of communication)..
So is it, LubB, LurRRvvEE or love. *sigh*
+:-*mUsEuM-oRf-Tw1TzZz *-:+ It's a twit thing.
Some of us have a bit of twitness in us, but that's still ok. Pls do not venture deeper into this path..
