Haha sorry bloggie.. been neglecting you so much lately.. Someow my life has just been a fast whirl with so much to do and so little time to relax.. *boo*
a update all the way from the previous post. (potential long post)
Harry Potter
One of my favourites, due to my love for all things fantasy and sci-fi. Just read the Half-Blood Prince somewhere in end Nov, and well, it was a pretty good read, but I am so going to slaughter the ASS who told me who the half blood prince was a long time ago. He/she's lucky I forgot who. I read the whole damn book with that guy's name in my head.. and boom! suspense gone.
Finally caught the Goblet of Fire movie too! fast-paced show, but since its a movie of a long book in the series you really have to read the book to understand it. Fleur, whom I've been expecting a total goddess to play, was a bit disappointing. Hermione has suddenly grown a lot of wrinkles on her forehead, but still cute and lovely =)
Then comes my greatest whine about the whole movie.. WHERE's DUMBLEDORE! that raving madman in the show was not Dumbledore! He's a Deatheater in disguise! Dumbledore doesnt shout "SILENCE!" like Tan Yew Hwee, he doesnt grab a person by the shirt and interrogates him, neither does he scold Harry or get so angry! This imposter has no "Dumbledorish" aura around him that makes people go silent just when he appears. Do I really have to put up with this fake Dumbledore for the next 2 movies? help.. this is so wrong.
My Darling's Birthday
Heh, now this is the main highlight of the month.
She came over to my place, and brought some VCDs, first we watched "A Lot Like Love" starring the Punk'd dude and Amanda Peet. Basically how a couple turned from strangers to f**k buddies (do these things even exist in our universe) to best friends and finally after many years, being together. A happy feel-good love story.
Then she went back to get stuff while I went to rent more CDs and prepare dinner. Heh prepared black pepper mushroom steak with large munchy mushrooms, mashed potato, mixed vegetables, minestrone soup, chippolatas and red wine. Had B&J's Chunky Monkey too, but didnt eat it that night. Made 3 servings cuz my brother joined us for dinner too =) The rest of my family went to M'sia over the weekend (how convenient.. *wink* ok stef is going to slap me) After dinner, I gave her her present finally, an acrylic painting of a scene we both know and is now hung in her room in hall.
After dinner and washing up (I did it all.. stef knocked out on the sofa after the wine) and waking stef up it was back to VCDs. This time its "The Notebook" recommended by emma. Darn sad story, with a bittersweet ending.. stef scolded me for watching such a sad show.. You guys should either go read the book or a least watch the movie.. but the front part is rather draggy.
Camp Life
My camp is now in the process of closing down. Anyone who wished to witness the mass slow torturous demise of young brains should pay a visit to my camp.
Observation:
When a sample of young males are placed together with no form of authority and lots of time to spare, rapid degeneration of higher order thinking processes occurs.
Case study:
A bunch of NS guys are tasked to do area cleaning in the empty warehouse. One guy takes out his golfball collection(another phenomenon's case study, refer to "The Magpie Collecting" syndrome, Chapter 4.5) and the rest each takes one ball. Next we can see them all playing squashy-golf in the warehouse, with people frantically dodging high-speed golfballs and launching them with great speed simultaneously.
Observation:
Humans, like animals, do play dead too in high-stress environments.
Case Study:
When faced with the potential scenario of 8hrs of free time and the risk of permanent brain degeneration, some have evolved a state of semi-death as self-defence. A sight of 8-10 pseudodead bodies can be found all over cool dry area, e.g. on the floors of the office, against a cupboard in the aircon room, or in office chairs. They assume this state for periods of approx. 4hrs, waking only to consume food and then reverting back for another 4hrs.
So someone please help me.
Zouk
On the 7th we went Zouk. Namely, Me, Laur Rosh Ervin Tanen Doreen Kenny and Jac who went for the Flesh Imp party. Most of use reached at 11pm. Big mistake. The queue was all the way till the carpark for the phuture entrance. Phuture went "Full House" at 11:30, and we queued for Zouk instead, got in slight past 12, and Zouk too went full house close to 1.
We hung around Zouk for a while and the girls went up to phuture leaving us guys to rot in mambo. We decided to leave the place for awhile with Ervin high from the flaming lambo. Kenny then detected rain, then it poured on us and the 100+ people trying to go into Zouk. Sad. Ervin had a brainwave (or drunk idea). He tried to re-enter from phuture, the bouncer let him past. 3 guys pretty amazed. 3 guys followed suit and got in, only to be stopped by a female who told us our stamps are valid for Zouk only. Charmed her off her feet. Got into phuture, feeling darn proud of ourselves =)
As expected, it was damn crowded, two shoving incidents happened, and there were floods of bloody botaks who just came out of BMT and looking like starving rabid wolves on a hunt. Only people who has less than 6months to ROD or ok, ORD can say this. Met two VJ tutors partying away there too, Mr Young(? correct?) and the panda-eyed Chem tutor. Now we get an idea where those anda eyes came from. Then came Rosh shouting "Yo VJC!" and the rest trying to move out of the "I Know Her She's My Friend" radius at bullet speed. Went for prata, where we had stereo music from the girls, and we played the guess the radio song game.
