Frightful baby, remember the days you'll shun from me?
Huddled in the corner with feathers all fluffed.
Or how I'd rush home just to watch you eat,
And call back every morning just to see how you're doing.
The times when I'll talk to you the whole afternoon,
Till I fall fast asleep beside your cage on the sofa.
Soon you were flying, soaring around the room,
Only to bump into the wall and make me laugh.
I brought you on all sorts of trips,
And you were the most well behaved of all.
How you'd just stay by my feet no matter what,
Warms my heart and just makes adore you so much more.
Now you're gone, so abruptly,
Leaving me with just these lovely memories,
Etched so deep within my mind.
And a burden of guilt that I could've done much more.
Sorrow reigned today.
